1. General Information

The services provided by Michalis Massage and Soundhealing, both on this website and during massage sessions, are intended solely for relaxation, stress reduction, and general wellness purposes. They are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Please consult a qualified medical professional for any health concerns prior to your session.

2. Scope of Practice

I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe treatment. I may refer you to a medical doctor for assessment. While I use a wide variety of massage techniques, including pressure, stretching, kneading, and electronical devices, I do not perform manipulations as done by manual therapists, physiotherapists, or chiropractors. Services provided are complementary to, not a replacement for, professional healthcare.

3. Health and Safety

Clients must disclose all relevant health conditions, injuries, allergies, or treatments prior to each session. Failing to do so can lead to adverse effects. I am not liable for issues resulting from undisclosed health information. Clients are responsible for their own health and well-being during and after the sessions.

4. Contraindications

Massage therapy is generally safe for most people; however, it may not be appropriate for individuals with certain health conditions. Clients must not schedule or attend a massage session if they are feeling unwell, have a fever, cold, or any contagious disease, including skin conditions such as herpes, scabies, or ringworm.

Total Contraindications – Massage should not be performed:

  • When the client has a fever or is experiencing an active infection
  • With any contagious disease, including colds or flu
  • Neuritis
  • While under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or prescription pain medication
  • After recent surgeries, fractures, or acute injuries
  • With skin conditions such as herpes, scabies, ringworm, lice, or shingles

Local Contraindications – Massage may proceed but must avoid affected areas:

  • Varicose veins
  • Undiagnosed lumps or bumps
  • Pregnancy
  • Bruising
  • Cuts
  • Abrasions

5. Session Duration & Experience

Sessions include time for intake and grounding. Late arrival may shorten your session. Sessions start and end as scheduled out of respect for other clients.

6. Client Needs and Boundaries

Client comfort and boundaries are paramount. You are encouraged to communicate any discomfort, and your privacy will be respected throughout the session.

7. Draping Policy

Clients will be properly draped throughout the session. Only the area being treated will be exposed. Breasts and genitals will never be exposed or massaged.

A treatment plan is discussed prior to each session. Clients may withdraw consent at any time. Feedback is welcome to enhance your experience.

9. Personal Hygiene, Sobriety, and Shower

Clients must arrive clean, freshly showered, and sober. A private shower is available before or after the massage for an added fee, which must be pre-booked via the online system. If not booked in advance and requested on-site, the surcharge must be paid on site. Should a client arrive with noticeable body odor or in an unclean state, I reserve the right to pause or terminate the session, or require the client to shower before proceeding. Any time spent showering will be deducted from the total treatment duration.

Please refrain from wearing makeup or strong fragrances, as they may affect the quality of the session and could trigger allergic reactions.

10. Post-Massage Care

Stay hydrated after treatment. Avoid caffeine. Mild soreness is possible and can be relieved with rest, stretching, and magnesium supplements or baths.

11. Products & Oils

Only natural, organic, and high-quality products are used. Options include almond oil, coconut oil, CBD-infused blends, and custom formulations. Hypoallergenic alternatives available on request.

12. Add-Ons (Enhancements) and Preferences

Clients can select from various add-ons (e.g., aromatherapy, TDP lamp, magnesium, percussion therapy, CBD oil, custom oil blend, PEMF, Red Light Therapy etc.). These must be booked in advance. Not all add-ons are available for clothed sessions.

13. New Clients

First-time clients are required to prepay their session during the online booking process. Bookings are only guaranteed after full payment has been received. New clients should also arrive 5–10 minutes early to complete a health intake and discuss session preferences. Extended intake time may shorten treatment unless booked as an add-on.

14. Cancellations and No-Shows

Clients must provide at least 72 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations (within 48 hours) or no-shows will result in full charge. Repeated occurrences may lead to denial of future service. Clients arriving more than 20 minutes late will be rescheduled and charged. In the event of an unexpected cancellation, you are welcome to send a friend or family member in your place—it's a lovely way to gift someone a massage and ensure the reserved time is used.

15. Payment and Pricing

23. Confidentiality

All client information, including health history, intake forms, and session notes, are strictly confidential and stored securely. Information will never be shared without written consent unless required by law.

24. Liability

All treatments are administered with the highest level of care, skill, and professional integrity. However, by booking and participating in any session, clients acknowledge and accept that they do so at their own risk. I shall not be held liable for any physical, psychological, or emotional injuries, discomfort, or adverse reactions that may arise during or after the treatment, especially if resulting from undeclared medical conditions, contraindications, or a failure to follow post-treatment advice.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Injuries caused by sudden movements, such as falling off the massage table due to deep relaxation, epileptic seizures, or spontaneous energetic releases (e.g., Kundalini responses);
  • Accidents occurring within the premises, such as slips, trips, or falls in the massage room, hallway, restroom, stairs or shower facilities, whether before, during, or after the session;
  • Reactions to oils or products used, if sensitivities were not disclosed in advance.

Clients are responsible for communicating any medical issues prior to the session and for exercising due caution when entering or exiting the massage space.

Following any session—especially one involving deeper pressure, sound healing, energetic techniques, or extended duration—clients may experience temporary disorientation, emotional shifts, or altered states of awareness. It is strongly advised to allow adequate time to ground and reorient before operating a motor vehicle or engaging in any activity requiring full attention.

Additionally, after oil-based treatments, feet or skin may remain slippery. Clients are advised to exercise extreme caution when stepping off the table or moving across smooth surfaces, and to use provided towels or shower facilities as needed to reduce slip risk.

25. Professional Conduct

All services are strictly non-sexual. Any inappropriate language, gestures, or advances will result in immediate termination of the session, with the full session fee charged. Future appointments may be denied and, if necessary, reported to appropriate authorities.

26. Client Conduct

All bodily responses are natural, including sleep, emotional release, or flatulence. Please feel free to communicate your comfort or any concerns. Judgment-free zone.

27. Accessibility

The studio in Ede is on the 2nd floor and not wheelchair accessible. Mobile massage can be arranged upon request.

This website may include external links for client reference. I am not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy policies of external websites.

29. Intellectual Property

All text, graphics, images, and branding on this website are my intellectual property. Reproduction or use without explicit written permission is strictly prohibited.

30. Classes and Workshops

I occasionally offer massage workshops and instructional classes. These educational experiences are provided for personal development and wellness purposes only. Participation is voluntary, and by enrolling, participants acknowledge that they are responsible for how they apply any techniques learned. I cannot be held liable for any injury, misuse, or adverse outcomes resulting from improper application of methods taught during these sessions. Attendees are advised to seek appropriate training, certification, or professional guidance if they wish to practice massage on others beyond personal use.

31. Corporate Massage Services

Corporate massage services are available to promote employee wellness and productivity. These sessions are intended for relaxation and are not a substitute for medical treatment. I am not liable for any conditions or incidents arising from participation. It is the responsibility of the client/employer to ensure participants are medically cleared for massage.

32. Third-Party Practitioners

In some cases, I may hire or collaborate with other professional bodyworkers. While I strive to work only with qualified and ethical practitioners, I am not responsible for the conduct, performance, or outcomes of sessions provided by third-party contractors.

33. Clients Under 18

Massage services for clients under the age of 18 require written consent from a parent or legal guardian. A guardian may be present during the session if requested by the client or deemed appropriate by the therapist.

34. Right to Refuse Treatment

I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a massage session at any time if it is deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or outside my scope of practice or comfort.

35. Force Majeure

I shall not be liable for any failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, accidents, strikes, pandemics, or government-imposed restrictions.

36. Amendments

I reserve the right to amend or update this disclaimer and its terms at any time without prior notice. Clients are encouraged to review these terms regularly.

37. Health Insurance

Massage treatments offered are not covered by Dutch health insurance.

39. Spiritual Experiences and Energetic Release

Sound Healing and other energy-based treatments offered may sometimes evoke profound emotional or spiritual experiences, including but not limited to sensations of energy movement, emotional catharsis, or spontaneous energetic awakenings such as a Kundalini awakening.

While these responses can be deeply healing for some, they can also be intense and unpredictable. By participating in such sessions, clients acknowledge that they are voluntarily engaging in energy work and that any such experiences are part of their personal journey. I do not offer psychological or spiritual counseling and cannot be held liable for any perceived aftereffects, interpretations, or consequences related to energetic releases during or after the session.

My Philosophy

It takes both the therapist and client working together to create a positive effect on the outcome the client wishes to achieve.

Each doing their part to create positive change.

By using this website and booking services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the full disclaimer and terms of service.
